Sepia belongs to the Cephalopods group of Molluscs. Unlike other molluscs, cephalopods have no shell or internalized shells and ´they are active predators who stalk, chase, and kill live prey. And they do it not by scuttling across the seafloor but by swimming in open water with remarkable speed

Cuttlefish is often described as the master of disguise owing to its remarkable ability of changing the body color and posture to blend near perfection with its background substrate and become almost undistinguishable from it. It is referred as chameleon of the sea.
In this attempt small males first mimic as females and deviously get past the larger males to get an access to the females for mating. Cunning disguise is so real that there have been instances reported where two males mimicking as females tried mating each other.

Inky juice of cuttle fish is supposed to be pre-eminently a woman’s remedy, though the first symptoms were found by Dr. Hahnemann proved accidentally by a male artist. 

It affects the venous circulation esp. of the FEMALE PELVIC ORGANS; of portal system and of digestive tract. Venous stasis and thereby ptosis of viscera is a marked feature. 

In order to descend in the ocean the cuttlefish needs to increase its bones density. It increases the bones liquid gas ratio. The rare chambers tend to fill with liquid for enabling it to sink.
This may be a correlation for the keynote heavy Dragging down/ Pulling Down sensation lower part of the body that has been expressed by both provers and patients. 

Successful Sepia: Is independent right from the beginning. But in various life situations she will be dominated or forced to do things that she does not want to. So there is divorce or separation, or the patients remain spinsters. Many of them also join the Women’s Liberation Movement

Rebellion against the Shell:  The dominant tendency of the configuration of Sepia strikes us like an overturning of the form pattern from which it evolved, a rebellion against the shell-enclosed.

´The dynamic life expression of Sepia, on the other hand, which turns introversion into extroversion, thus basically rebels against the contemplative, passive, protected femininity

´The main feeling she is forced to undertake things opposed to her intentions, to do what she doesn’t want to do. It is a chronic situation in which she has been dominated and not allowed to have her way. There is a feeling of dependence in Sepia. She feels that her body is disfigured and unattractive, especially to the opposite sex. In order to keep him happy, so that she is accepted by him, she has to do what he wishes, not what she wishes. She feels forced to accept situations against her will, because of her feeling of not being good enough. This makes her miserable and she feels unfortunate.

She tries to keep her husband and children happy while at the same time pursuing her career. This can become very strenuous. She becomes miserable and worn out since she is busy all the time. This situation leads slowly to despair and indifference, to sadness from which she tries to find some relief by being constantly occupied. She withdraws into herself and becomes averse to her husband and children. Sepia comes close to Lachesis, with its envy and dreams of snakes but in Lachesis the emphasis is more on keeping herself attractive. It is as if there is competition and she has to win. If she does so, all is well. In Sepia, there is despair, there is no hope in the relationship.

Failed Sepia:
´Miserable, worn out, despair indifference.
´Discontent, displeased, dissatisfied with everything
´Antagonism with oneself.
´Aversion to husband
´Aversion to members of family.
´Aversion to business.
