What is Homeopathy?
Discovered in late 18th century by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, Homeopathy medicine recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) is the world’s second largest system of medicine. It is increasingly becoming the first line of treatment for various disease conditions where allopathy medicine has little/no answers or only short lasting symptomatic relief answers. In homeopathy we believe, man is an organic unity of the body, mind and soul. The material part consists of his body, his various organ systems, his glands, his tissues and fluids, his brain. The non- material part that gives life to the body that governs it and controls its functions is called ‘Vital force/vital energy’ in homeopathy. It is when the vital force/energy flow is low or when it is blocked that dis-ease occurs. This is universally recognized by not just Homeopathy but Yoga, Chinese Medicine and some other systems of medicine.
For homeopaths disease is not just sum of few symptoms, but the disturbances at energy level, disturbances at the mind and body level. The homeopathic remedy works by stimulating the body’s own healing power (immunity) by unblocking or increasing the flow of vital energy. The stimulus will help assist your own system to clear itself of any expressions of imbalance. The aim is to bring your own body to a level of wellness-capability to restore the imbalance- so as to cure itself.
What is Yoga?
As we understand, in Yoga, posture (Asana), breath control (Pranayama) and body locks or seals (Bundas) are used to navigate this subtle energy through what the Yogis call the Nadis. Nadis are subtle energy channels that surround the physical body through which Prana or the Vital Force must pass through to ensure physical, mental and emotional health.
Integration of Yoga and Homeopathy:
Homeopathy and Yoga both understand that the harmonious flow of this energy through the body is what actually governs and maintains health within the physiological body.
Both Homeopathy and Yoga are practical ways of achieving a union of body, mind and spirit. In doing so one will not only free yourself of disease but you will increase one’s levels of vitality and wellbeing. They can both be utilized in the process of self-transformation.
Though ofcourse both systems are powerful healing systems in their own rights, together they present a powerful tool to the individual to overcome disease in the body and mind and potentially a faster, more effective way than if used in isolation.
We believe, they can both be used to achieve greater levels of health, harmony and well being.
