What is MIGRAINE?
- Migraine is a chronic neurological disorder in which the patient suffers from recurrent moderate to severe headaches. Headaches can be felt as intense throbbing and pulsation at one side of the head, hammering, etc.
- Headaches are usually associated with nausea and vomiting, and sometimes blurring of vision. The person is extremely sensitive to light and sound which can last for hours to days. Many people often find relief after vomiting.
30% of people have an aura prior to migraine headache which is characterized by transient visual, sensory, language, or motor disturbances

Symptoms of migraine occur in phases:
- Prodrome: Mood swings, irritability, fatigue, stiff muscles, neck rigidity, and sensitivity to smell or noise
- Aura: Blurring of vision, pins & needle-sensation on arms
- Pain: One-sided, throbbing, and accompanied by nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound
- Postdrome: Soreness at the region of pain along with tired feeling, head pain, digestive disturbances, skipping meals, mood changes, and lethargy which lasts for a few days
What causes MIGRAINE?
