With life skill coaching and counselling, we empower diverse individuals, families and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education and career goals. These methods involve helping people make needed changes in ways of thinking, feeling and behaving and is a goal based collaborative process, involving a non-judgmental, supportive counsellor & life skill coach who works with a client in telling his or her story, setting viable goals, and developing strategies and plans necessary to accomplish these goals. For some people this process takes a small amount of time, in some cases as little as one or two sessions, for others, the process many last longer.
Life skill coaching and counselling can be for one person or a group (typically couples and families) and may be delivered through a number of methods from face-face dialogue, group work, telephone, email etc.
It is a largely voluntarily activity whereby the clients must wish to change and collaborate willingly with the counsellor.
